Lavender fields. As far as you can see. The gardens surrounding the finca Caserio de Lobones near Segovia in Spain are the last work by celebrated landscape designer Leandro Silva. He surrounded the estate with groves of ash and pine and fields of lavender and roses. The lavender “lavanda” fragrance here is so intense, you can smell the aroma as if your nostrils were hovering mere inches above a bottle of extracted lavender oil. The color of the flowers is so saturated that it must be the literal definition of lavender. I wanted to capture the essence of these lavender blooms in closeup, I had a macro lens attached and was chasing this iridescent ladybug from bloom to bloom…
